The Goldendoodle is a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Standard Poodle. Other names for the Goldendoodle are: Goldendoodle; Goldenoodle, Curly Golden, Goldenpoo, Curly Retriever, and Groodle. The Goldendoodle is not a dog considered to be a purebred but instead a cross between two purebred dogs; the Golden Retriever and the Standard Poodle.
F1 = 50% Goldendoodle + 50% Poodle.
F1-B = 25% Golden Retriever + 75% Poodle.
F2 = F1 Goldendoodle + F1 Goldendoodle.
F3 = F2 Goldendoodle + F2 Goldendoodle.
The Standard Poodle is also a bird dog and an excellent retriever of all types of birds. They too love to swim and will retrieve the duck you shot from the water. Most people would not think of the Standard Poodle as a hunting dog but this is what they were originally breed for. This breed makes a great family pet and because of the hair makes them a hypoallergenic dog. They are very smart and take commands well. Standard Poodles are used for service dogs and make superb police dogs as well.
The Golden Retriever is one of the most popular dog breeds in the US and will be a friendly, lovable family pet. They too love to swim. Don’t overlook this breed if you are looking for a great hunting dog as well. They are used to hunt and retriever all types of birds. They are often used for a service dog and because of their keen sense of smell they make great narcotic dogs too. An all around intelligent, friendly, family pet and working/sporting dog.
